on the cover page of ENOLEC, the "Educational Network Of Low Energy Constructions". Enolec is an association of six european vocational schools from Malta, Germany, Sweden, Ireland, Tenerifa (Spain) and Cyprus. The association was initiated by teachers of the Max-Born-Berufskolleg in Recklinghausen in 2004. With the financial assistance of the comenius programme, an european programme for lifelong learning and european education cooperation it was possible to realize these project. What concerns us primarily is the support and expansion of the educational cooperation of the six vocational schools. In addition to that we follow the purpose to enable the students to lifelong learning. All issues and methods of ENOLEC are focussed to these effects. The focal field of the project is building construction. Most all participating teachers and students work in this field. Accordingly the themes of the projects were chosen. The underlying idea of the collaboration between the working groups is to compare characteristic structural design of the countries and find out the basic differences and similarities. Besides energety efficiency and ecology of the constructional components of the respective constructions are on essential point of the comparison.
